Anyone who’s ever looked into holistic living has probably heard of Dr. Sebi. As a world-renowned herbalist, Dr. Sebi developed a unique approach to food and eating that emphasises the use of natural plants.

Central to his philosophy is the idea that food can be used as medicine, and he created what’s known as the Dr. Sebi Alkaline diet. This diet is made up of healthy alkaline foods, and herbs.

The pyramid includes six levels, with the most nutritious foods at the bottom and the least nutritious at the top. The foundation of the pyramid is made up of alkaline vegetebles, which are essential for health and vitality. From there, the pyramid moves up to alkaline fruits through decreasingly alkaline foods like grains and legumes, with minimally processed foods and oils making up the very minute top.

What is a Food Pyramid?

The food pyramid is a guide to healthy eating that was first introduced by the United States Department of Agriculture in 1992. The pyramid consists of six different food groups, with the largest and most important group at the bottom, and the smallest and least important group at the top.

The six food groups are: vegetables, fruits, grains, protein, and fats & oils. The recommended number of servings from each group varies depending on age, gender, and activity level, but the general rule is that people should eat more from the bottom of the pyramid and less from the top.

Who is Dr. Sebi?

Dr. Sebi is a world-renowned herbalist and natural healer who has dedicated his life to helping others achieve optimal health. Born in Honduras, Dr. Sebi began his career as a botanist, studying the healing properties of plants.

He later developed his own unique system of natural health, which he called the African Bio-Mineral Balance. Dr. Sebi’s approach to health is based on the premise that all diseases stem from an over acidity in the body which creates mucus that is disease causing.

The Dr. Sebi Food Pyramid

The Dr. Sebi food pyramid is based on the principle that all healthy foods can be classified as alkaline. Alkaline foods are thought to promote health, while acidic foods are thought to be detrimental to health.
