Best Alkaline Key Lime Pie Recipe

Key Lime pie recipe made with alkaline vegan ingredients. There are two ways to make this but the difference comes from the filling ingredients used. While one recipe calls for an avocado-based filling, the other makes use of coconut cream/butter for the filling

Ingredients

For the Crust

  • 2 cups Walnut
  • 1 cup Coconut flakes
  • ½ tsp Sea salt
  • 10 Dates

For the Filling (Avocado Based)

  • 2 cups Walnuts
  • 1 large Avocado
  • ½ cup Coconut Oil
  • ½ tsp Sea salt
  • 5 Key Limes juiced
  • ½ cup Agave Syrup
  • 1 cup Spring water

For the Filling (Coconut based)

  • 2 large Green (young) coconut cut into chunks
  • 1 cup Green coconut water
  • 1 cup Agave syrup
  • 1 tbsp sea moss gel
  • 5 Key limes juiced

Instructions

For the Crust

  • Add all Crust ingredients in a blender and pulse for 30 seconds or until a bit malleable
  • Once done, transfer to a pan and press crust-blend using a flat spatula, measuring cup or fingers
  • Allow to sit while preparing the filling

For the Filling

  • Add all filling ingredients to a blender and pulse for 30 minutes or until smooth
  • Pour filling over the crust and drizzle some pureed avocado and coconut butter over filling. For the other filling recipe, zest some key lime over filling
  • Allow to set for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator
  • Enjoy

Notes

Feel free to get creative with this recipe. If you don't like avocado, you can replace with coconut butter or sea moss gel as done in this alternative key lime recipe. For a more softer filling, consider adding more coconut oil or water to desired consistency.
